Cinematic moments from the Holy Quran. Each story includes the verse, the context, and the video β preserved here so you can read or watch.
The Quran names only one woman explicitly: Maryam (AS), honored in Surah Maryam.
Maryam (AS), daughter of Imran, was dedicated to the service of Allah SWT from birth. Her mother had vowed that her child would serve in the temple, and Allah SWT accepted her with grace. As Maryam (AS) grew, she retreated to a private chamber in the east, devoting herself to worship. There, the angel Jibril (AS) appeared in the form of a man, bringing her tidings from Allah SWT.
He announced that she would bear a son, Isa (AS), a sign for humanity and a mercy from Allah SWT, conceived without a father through divine command. Overwhelmed yet faithful, Maryam (AS) withdrew to a remote place. She endured labor pains beneath a date palm, where fresh dates fell to nourish her, and a stream appeared at her feet. When she returned to her people with the infant, they questioned her, but Isa (AS) spoke from the cradle, affirming his prophethood and servitude to Allah SWT.

In the opulent palaces of ancient Egypt, Asiyah, the wife of the tyrannical Pharaoh, witnessed the miracles of Prophet Musa (AS). Despite her position of immense power and luxury, she secretly embraced faith in Allah (SWT). Her heart turned away from the false gods and cruelties of her husband, finding solace in the truth brought by Musa (AS).
When Pharaoh discovered her belief, he subjected her to brutal torture, ordering her to be nailed to the ground under the scorching sun. Yet, Asiyah remained steadfast, raising her gaze to the heavens. In her final moments, she uttered a profound dua: 'O my Lord! Build for me, in nearness to You, a mansion in Paradise' (Surah At-Tahrim 66:11). Her choice of eternal bliss over earthly throne exemplified unwavering devotion.

Maryam (AS), daughter of Imran, was dedicated to the service of Allah SWT from birth. Her mother vowed to devote her child to the temple, and Maryam grew up in purity under the care of Prophet Zakariya (AS). Miraculously, Allah SWT provided her with fresh fruits out of season, a sign of His favor. The angels declared to her: 'O Maryam, indeed Allah has chosen you and purified you and chosen you above the women of the worlds.'
When Maryam withdrew to a secluded place, the angel appeared in the form of a man, announcing that she would bear a son, Isa (AS), by the command of Allah SWT. Though a virgin, she conceived through divine miracle, facing societal whispers but remaining steadfast in faith. In the early days of Islam, as revelations descended upon Prophet Muhammad ο·Ί in the caves of Mecca and the streets of Medina, doubters and enemies sought to alter or erase the divine message. Yet, Allah SWT declared an unbreakable vow of protection, ensuring the Quran's words would endure eternally against all attempts at corruption.
This promise materialized through meticulous efforts: companions like Abu Bakr (RA) compiled the verses into a single manuscript, and Caliph Uthman (RA) standardized copies distributed across the expanding Muslim world. Generations of huffaz memorized every ayah, syllable by syllable, preserving the text through wars, migrations, and time itself. Today, billions recite the same unchanged words, a living miracle of divine guardianship.

In the tenth year of prophethood, the Prophet Muhammad ο·Ί faced immense grief known as the Year of Sadness. His beloved wife, Khadijah (RA), who had been his steadfast supporter and the first to embrace Islam, passed away after a prolonged illness. Shortly after, his uncle Abu Talib, who protected him from the Quraysh's persecution despite not converting, also died. These losses left the Prophet ο·Ί vulnerable and heartbroken amid rising hostility in Makkah.
Amid this sorrow, Allah SWT revealed Surah Ad-Duha to console His Messenger ο·Ί, assuring him that He had not forsaken him. The verses reminded the Prophet ο·Ί of past mercies, like his orphanhood and guidance, promising relief after hardship. This divine comfort strengthened his resolve, leading to the miraculous Night Journey soon after.
